Terraserver

Terraserver is like an online map, but using satellite images, so you can actually see the map in real life. I hadn't used Terraserver for years till yesterday. When I last used it, it only gave you a scruffy black and white low resolution image of wherever you wanted to look at.. but now it has high resolution color shots of most urban areas!

I tracked right down to the area I stayed in LA last time. Tasty high resolution.
