Teach Yourself Navigation

I'm clearing out my books shelves, and getting ready to trash (or give away) a large number of unwanted books. I stumbled across an old book from 1958 called "Teach Yourself Navigation". The "Teach Yourself" series was like an early-20th-century version of the Dummies books. There were hundreds of "Teach Yourself" books on every topic from Italian to Naval Architecture.

Navigation stood out because I recall when I first started to read it. I was 9 and I'd taken it into school as my reading time book. The time I started to read it was one of the few times we'd have adult helpers in to listen to us read and help us along, and, looking back, I'm sure I must have scared my helper reading a book from the '50s about navigation techniques at age 9.

Perhaps I'll read it again, and then it'll be ready to navigate its way to the second hand bookshop.
