Let's watch iTunes explode

I need to send my iBook back in for a minor repair before its warranty is out. I've kept my music collection on it for a year now, so I've been playing it from my Mac Mini over the network. So I can send it back, I've copied all the files from the iBook to the Mini (took an hour!) and now need to get it to add all the files into my iTunes.

Yes.. this could prove tricky. I now only have 20GB of space free, with 21GB of MP3s to add. Since I already have a busy iTunes on this machine, with unique files of its own, I couldn't copy the whole library across into the iTunes folder (as Ed did, with much success). But now I can't add them all at once because I haven't enough space for it to dupe them (and it doesn't delete the masters as you go). My plan? Well, I'm going to try moving the existing library into another folder.. then copy the 20GB collection into the iTunes folder (as Ed did) with XML files and all.. then add the existing library as normal (since it's smaller). *crosses fingers*

10 minutes later.. okay, that was painless. It worked!
