Siobhan Lismore has written an amusing article about mine and Laura's stay at the Tolworth Chessington Travelodge.
Travelodge claim: "He had a chance to complain and he didn't." This is untrue, and you can tell this even by the text of my letter. For a start, if I were simply going straight to my blog with the story, I would write it in letter form. Second, I wouldn't have started the letter: "Perhaps you would be kind enough to forward me to the complaints / quality assurance department, or forward this complaint to them? Thank you."
I sent my complaint to Travelodge and never received a reply. I even got a confirmation that it had been received, so it's not as if they have any excuse. Still, I guess they need to look good in the paper, so I can't blame them for that.
A curious result of this article going out in the Surrey Comet is that Paul Buzasi, Managing Director of the Antoinette Hotel in Kingston, has offered me a complimentary stay at his hotel. It certainly sounds nice. Perhaps I'll have to get into the hotel reviews business?
