Hire your most annoying user

I think I've learnt something new this week after years of developing stuff. Always hire your most annoying user. Why? For testing, of course. I let one of RSS Digest's most blunt and demanding users (sorry man, but you are!) do a lot of the beta testing of FeedDigest and he's been a star. I've dug out a number of really esoteric bugs with his help, and he's criticised all there is to criticise, resulting in a much more reliable product. So thanks, I've learnt something useful from you, and FeedDigest is all the better for it. To everyone else, get your most annoying user to do the testing, and they'll magnify all the flaws you could barely make out.
