Half a million links and Matt Cutts

It might have given way to Feed Digest, but RSS Digest now has over 500,000 incoming links according to Yahoo. Google reports a more sombre 5170, but, as Matt Cutts says, Google only shows a small sampling of backlinks these days.

As an aside, Matt Cutts, a Google software engineer, has launched a blog. I recall meeting him very briefly at the WebMasterWorld PubCon in London a couple of years ago and commenting on how loaded he'd be when/if Google IPOed. Guess that one came true! All power to the guy for staying there and working on stuff he clearly loves, though I would probably do the same. Free soda, free food, hang around with cool people and work on hot projects without worrying where the next meal's coming from? Sounds great to me.

Wow! 500,000 links! That's amazing! That means you must have 500,000 (or thereabouts) sites using RSS Digest, right? $$Ca-ching!$$ ;o)
