iTunes and iPod organization

How do you keep your iPod organized? My playlists are pretty good, and I've been working on setting up some dynamic playlists so that I can always flip to something I like. I've also created some genre based playlists. But, beyond that, I find myself frustrated with the iPod sometimes.

Often I'm in the car, a random track comes around while on Shuffle Mode, and I know I want to hear that whole album now. But.. I can't find how to do that. I have to go out to the menus, work out where the album or artist is, then play the album from there. When driving, you can't do that, so I have to stop, then spend thirty seconds of solid effort finding the album I want. It's sometimes longer, as the scrolling through 1601 album names takes a while, and the fast scroll is too fast.

Are there better ways of organizing the iPod, or is it really not much use for eyes-free operation? I've tried searching the Web for tips on using the iPod but not found anything particularly useful yet.. all the hacks are for software, but I just want to know any useful things about actually using my iPod out in the wild.
