Outsourced blogging is here?

Three months ago, I suggested that if one could outsource blogging to cheap content producers in India (or wherever), you could make good money on advertising. Well.. someone's just about to start doing it! It'll be interesting to see how they come out.

Added October 10th in response to criticism from the Instablogs guys over the term "cheap":

Perhaps I misunderstand India, but arent blogs easier and cheaper to maintain in India due to staffing costs and salary expectations? Further, doesnt this mean that Instablogs gets its content at a lower cost than, say, Gawker Media?

Its not quite outsourcing, after all, but I acknowledged that. Still, I dont see why cheap content providers is a bad thing to say, unless youre willing to say youre paying your bloggers typical rates that us in Western Europe and the US might expect.

I only wish you the best of luck in this venture, and I dont hate what it represents. If an Indian content network can outmanouevre and beat Western networks at a fraction of the cost, thats great! We live in a world economy now, and its folly to think that the West should win each time.

This new blog network just happens to be based in India, its not a US based network which has outsourced its writing to India.

This new blog network just happens to be based in India, its not a US based network that has outsourced its writing to people in India. So is it really "outsourced blogging?"

The "cheap content producers" of India just happen to be more educated & innovative than most of the Yanks. By the way, just check the number of Indian scientists in NASA and other places in the States. What stuff kids study there in High School...Indian kids are more than well versed in those areas in much lower grades...so just grow up and let someone who is trying to do a good job do it. One can percieve your insecurity but still..

I totally agree with the comments of mustang, "cheap" is certainly not the correct word here...

The stuff you get in return is much better than the stuff you get by paying "high price" in other countries...

mustang: Hmm.. I actually suggested the idea as a good one in the first place. I wish them success!

Deep: Cheap, as I used it, means "relatively low in cost". If you want to load it with another meaning, that's your choice, but it doesn't apply here.

And, everyone, why the mention of the US or Americans? This has nothing to do with the US.

I think Internet is a Global community now. We now have the luxury to make friends worldwide and enjoy exchanging ideas.

Enjoy reading your blog though, Best Wishes..
