I'm breaking my radio silence and actually going to a Web 2.0 conference for once. I'm not the conference type, but The Future of Web Apps Summit in London next February seems too good to miss. I'll be there, so if you want to meet up, just drop me a line! Laura will be coming too, though she'll spend the day shopping in London rather than attending what she'd see as a "boring conference" :)
I imagine it'll be reasonably low on the tech, but all of the speakers are at the top of their game, so it'll be worth going. Presenting will be Joshua Schachter, David Heinemeier Hansson, Shaun Inman, Ryan Carson, and others who have a lot to share about the whole Web application game. It's a shame Jason Fried isn't on the billing, but hey, we can't have it all for £88.13 including VAT :)
Anyway, if you're interested in Rails, del.icio.us, Web 2.0, developing Web apps, and all that sort of jazz, and can get to Kensington next February, go and sign up. It sounds like great value, a great venue, and should be both inspiring and a laugh. Go sign up now, and I'll see you there!
Tip: Avoid their hotel recommendations if you're not a multi-millionaire, and instead either park at North Greenwich and tube it in, or stay at a comfy Travelodge in London for between £40-£80 a night.
Hey Peter,
Thanks for letting everyone know. We're super excited - it should be a ton of fun and very thought provoking.
See you there,

You're welcome, Ryan! I notice for some events of yours you have "socials" afterwards. Obviously, an arranged social isn't really viable for 500 people, but are there any unmentioned casual plans for afterward? :)
Posted by: Peter Cooper at December 1, 2005 02:41 PMOops, I'm an idiot. For some reason I missed the bit where it said "Social". Doh, ignore me! :)
Posted by: Peter Cooper at December 1, 2005 02:47 PMAh, the social stuff isn't mentioned on the main page. Any details about that?
For anyone who's in the area, the venue is right next to my favourite bar, Piano Kensington so drop in if you can.. one of the few piano bars in London..
