Bot for 37signals' Campfire?

I just stumbled across an interesting post on Snippets called Campfire Bot. It appears to be a Greasemonkey script that implements a very basic 'bot' for use on 37signals' Campfire AJAX chat system. An interesting idea, and it makes me wonder how I could keep such hacks and plugins in mind for my other projects. Plugins, APIs, and user extensions are massive right now. It's a great way to get your users to improve your product and to evangelize it to others.

(Update: Someone else has created a Campfire bot using Perl and WWW::Mechanize!)

(In other news, I'm testing out Ecto, a weblog posting client for OS X and Windows. It seems to be extremely good, and somewhat improved over the last time I tried it.)
