The Winter Olympics have come to a close all too soon and the closing ceremony has been excellent so far! There's never a show quite like the Olympic ceremonies and Italy hasn't disappointed this year.
The Olympics officially closed with a presentation by the city of Vancouver (and Canada as a whole, I guess) for the Winter Olympics in 2010. Avril Lavigne was on stage looking absolutely amazing and sang "Brand New Day" "Who Knows" live while all sorts of dancing went on. I'm trying to find a picture of her to put up here, but for now this cool, colorful poster from the Torino Olympics will have to do instead.
Roll on Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, and London 2012!
Update:
A big thanks to Courtney Hart of the Avril Lavigne blog for correcting my song title and offering up the above picture :) Click on the picture for Courtney's own post.

Hi!
The song she sang is actually called "Who Knows" from her CD 'Under My Skin' - although "Brand New Day" is one of the lyrics in the song... and actually would have been a more appropriate name for her singing it there, because it was a brand new day for the Olympics, since that was the part of the ceremony where they were handing over the Winter Olympics to Vancouver for 2010. :)

I just did a blog entry about Avril at the Olympics (avrillavigne.bloggergirl.com), and took a few pics off our projector screen that you can use on your blog here if you want. :)

Thanks for the offer. I'll probably use one later and link it back to your site as you have way more useful information about it all than I could muster :)
