The joy of spreadsheets

I'm dangerously progressive in some areas, but hopelessly stuck in the middle ages in others. My accounts and other financial affairs sit squarely in the latter category. The accounts have always been done by hand on paper. No computer involvement at all (other than PDFs of invoices and e-mail receipts). Less than a year ago I finally moved to using Internet banking, after some hesitation, and I caught the bug.

I've just created a spreadsheet that takes all my various forms of income, all my various forms of expenditure, and works out what's valid, what's not, adds up my deductions, and tells me what my tax bill is! I love it. Spreadsheets are, bizarrely, rather new to me and I'm experiencing the joy that I'm sure most first-time spreadsheet users experience once they've cracked how it all works. Yes, I can now make a basic spreadsheet, and I love it!
