The Sunday Times' Rich List is an annual list of the 1000 richest people in the United Kingdom (including foreign residents). The edition that comes with the paper is a compendium of how they made their money and a paragraph or two about most of the people. It makes great reading if you want to see what makes people rich. It also presents a ton of statistics about the top 1000, how they made their money, and how many inherited, etc. Here's a really basic version of the 2005 Sunday Times Rich List.
