Inland Revenue efficiency

The Inland Revenue (the UK's tax collectors - now actually part of some other agency) sent me the wrong tax forms to fill in this year, so I just phoned them up to get the new ones. I had to reel off a whole string of details and ask for the relevant forms. When I terminated the call, the call timer said 1:40 (1 minute 40 seconds). You can't beat that for efficiency. Why can't the companies trying to take our money be this good?
