Use the law to find out what people know about you

Matt Mower has started a pledge at Pledgebank asking people to perform a "Subject Access Request" (under the Data Protection Act 1998) on any one of their 'suppliers' (phone company, etc.) to legally find out everything that company holds about them on their records.

It's a little 'standing up for my rights' for me to get involved, and I already think the concept of privacy went to hell in a handbasket, but a bunch of people have already signed up for the pledge, and I'm sure some readers here would quite like to find out what info companies are harvesting about them. Matt has more info in this blog post.

I saw that you have a page that discusses patent-related resources at http://www.petercooper.co.uk/archives/001427.html. I wanted to suggest adding www.freepatentsonline.com to the page. This web site has free PDF downloading (instead of having to page through TIFFs like at the US PTO). It is by far the best free patent searching site.
