I doubt many people will have heard of it, but Advogato is going to shut down. Advogato was one of the first sites to try out the whole 'trust metric' thing where anyone could post a story but then it had to get voted up by the community to appear on the front page. It was a little like a very geeky, targeted mini Digg, focused on editorial rather than just links. It was ahead of its time when it first launched, but it always remained a geek-only fascination and most of the top open source developers were members.
