There's only one product I have a real craving for, and that's the Optimus keyboard. It's a keyboard that has a mini-display in every key, powered by OLED technology. It means your keys can change depending on context, be animated, change for different languages, change colors, etc. Supposedly it'll be 'open source' and work with most operating systems and cost less than a 'good' mobile phone.. so probably under £100.
It's due by the end of the year, but no announcements as yet.
I think this will be the Duke Nuken Forever version for keyboards?
Posted by: Garth at September 13, 2006 08:58 AMKeep in mind a 'good' mobile phone actually costs several hundred pounds, and the long lock-in on the contracts is to ensure they get their money's worth out of you.
I suspect a fairer price comparison may be on the cost of contract-free/unlocked phones.

Posted by: Jamie Wilson at September 13, 2006 03:07 PMI have been lusting after one of these for awhile... ever since I saw it on Slashdot (whenever that was). I sure hope it's not vaporware. :)
