Just saw Hugh post about this, and as I think people should always get (good) stuff as cheaply as possible, it has to be promoted. It's a 40% off voucher for Threshers (an omnipresent chain of off-licences in the UK). Print it out and get 40% off all wine and champagne purchases between November 30 and December 10, 2006.
According to Hugh, Threshers aren't really promoting this voucher and want to see if it spreads by word of mouth.. well.. at 40% off, it better well do! Time to go get some chapagne for Xmas, me thinks..
I saw a similar one of these go around yesterday for Borders bookshops. It's great if these are real, but I'm beginning to suspect they could be false. It could be pretty embarrassing to present a fake 40% discount voucher in a shop.
Interested to hear if anyone has success in getting the discount.
Posted by: Drew McLellan at November 25, 2006 09:40 AMI thought that, but then I realized I could just ask the staff when I went in the store rather than load up with goodies and then look an idiot when I'd racked up a bill ;-)
Posted by: Peter Cooper at November 25, 2006 01:28 PMNice one Peter. It's posted on the Stromhoek site front page, and, on the surface the site and company looks legit. I'm going to give it a go too.

Posted by: val at December 1, 2006 09:46 AMIT IS DEFINITLEY 100% LEGIT. JUST SEEN IT ON THE NEWS AND THRESHERS WILL HONOUR ANY VOUCHERS THAT R PRINTED.
Posted by: MARCUS BARNETT at December 1, 2006 01:46 PMThis is definitely genuine. I have just collected six decent bottles of wine with a £14plus reduction.
Posted by: Gaby at December 1, 2006 02:10 PMOh how canny of them to have this "leak" of 40% off, Still leaves them with a 120% mark up.
You know starbucks did the same thing a little while back.
Buy it because you would anyway.
